What is Panilla Saga?
Panilla Saga is a new mobile idle role-playing game developed and published by Ujoy Games. A hybrid Idle game that combine Active and Passive gameplay with a Retro fantasy 2D style.
OVERVIEW of Panilla Saga
Are you looking for an idle game who looks like AFK Arena? Do you have some time on your hand to play a RPG like game? Panilla Saga, have you tried it yet? With a diverse hero pool, different active gameplay mode and a comination between 2D art and Chibi like characters.
1. Graphics and Visual Design
With it’s retro art style and chibi characters to add a certain level of cuteness, fans will be delighted by the Panilla Saga‘s art style. Heroes does look like some popular anime characters and offers some degree of fanservice.
2. Sound and Music
Panilla Saga has a rather poor library of music with some tracks but cover it’s weakness with a good sound effects and Japanese voice acting for all of the characters.
3. Gameplay Mechanics
The good classic 5v5 combat system with skills, runes, equipment and heroes. Don’t forget all the different game modes like Divine Path, Chessboard of ages, Rubick’s Maze and Dreamtown, which offer a simulation mode and arcade gameplay. Panilla Saga let’s you summon heroes and build any kind of team you want with any factions, only downside i found was your hero formation is static.
4. Story and Lore
The story is interesting but gets boring without the voice actors. Panilla Saga still has different lore for each character which you can unlock when you increase your affinity with the hero.
5. Progression System
Panilla Saga presents a good progression system if have the right amount of resources and duplicates of heroes. The character leveling, skill upgrades, gears and runes does offer enough freedom for players to shape their champions and progress through the game. However, lucked based heroes acquisition can ruin your progression and set you in a waiting mode where things may come monotone.
6. Multiplayer and Competitive Gameplay
Beside Arena and Guild missions like Lion War, Guild Expedition and Guild Crusade, Panilla Saga lacks of multiplayer gameplay. But i think it’s enough for an idle game.
7. Events and Updates
The events and updates in Panilla Saga is what keep the active gameplay alive. Although some events are only the reskins version of the previous events for another hero. Game offers frequent update and rewards you after maintenance.
8. Monetization and In-Game Purchases
Panilla Saga presents a monetization and in-game purchase system that offers players optional enhancements and conveniences. While you don’t really have any obligation or reasons to rush contents, the availability of in-game purchases can provide shortcuts and a significant boost to your account. Game is P2W specially for events where F2P struggle to collect enough points to exchange for good rewards.
9. Community and Player Support
Overall, Panilla Saga does have a good Social Media presences on different popular platform. Also the game has a rather positive customer support with 3 ways to contact them.
10. Game Size and Compatibility
With 2.51 GB, Panilla Saga is a quite heavy for an idle game. Game runs without any issue on both phone and emulator.
Should you play Panilla Saga ?
Yes, If you like classic idle game like AFK Arena, with a little of idle gameplay and a very active gameplay. Panilla Saga is a good game where you can enjoy collecting your heroes and play multiple modes to advance at your own pace.
However, i find the game a bit too demanding in terms of active gameplay. Panilla Saga feels more like an RPG than an idle game. Playing an idle game for 2 hours daily gets tedious after a week. Another thing i found annoying was the lucked base heroes, although the game gives you a wish lists and a pity system. RNG can still mess your account easily.

Overall, if you enjoy RPGs, chibi art style, have some free time playing an idle game for more than 1 hour daily. Panilla Saga is your game, with no big wall for progression and if you disregard the P2W of events, the game is very enjoyable providing you have the patience and like idle games.
