I remember watching the trailer of path to nowhere , with cool beautiful looking characters in 2D illustrations which resembles the anime “Noblesse”. But what really catch my attention was when the eyes glowing a blue light like the vampires in the movie (underworld).
Your story starts with a rather unusual wake up from a mysterious women. You seem to have memory problem as the only thing that you remember is only your name. After you write your name, the story goes on a roller coaster. MBCC (Minos bureau of crisis control) is under attack by your savior.
She took your appearance for an obvious reason, as you are the Chief of MBCC. Now she’s freeing every single prisoners including the Sinners. Sinners are dangerous prisoners with special abilities that you will discover during the tutorial. Sinners will be the units and enemies that you will encounter during your game play.
After some encounter that you probably can’t lose as it’s part of the tutorial teaching you the basics. Discover later that you also have powers, the “Shackle“. A power that lets you control the Sinners, an ideal power for the Chief of MBCC. At the end of the tutorial you will be accompanied by 2 Sinners namely Hecate and Hela.
The fact that the voice actors does an excellent job to give more depth to those characters and contribute to an interesting story, each Sinner also reflect their class. I love how the game match both personality and class for example Hela is very straight forward and is a melee unit whereas Hecate is distant type and is a range unit.
Finally this is end of your roller coaster ride, tutorial is over and you now have full control in the game. Of course the first thing everyone would do after collecting all the rewards given freely by the game which includes redeeming your codes to be able to pull(summon) for units. Depending on your luck, you may want Reroll to restart over again with better better units or continue enjoying the game with units given to you.
To be able to go forward in the story, the game will start to ask for a level requirement. By now, you should go clear different dungeons to obtain those resources to upgrade your Sinners. The game will give you a lot of energy(stamina) which you will have the sensation of playing the game endlessly. You will spend stamina on progressing through the chapters and try different units that match your play style.
I have reach part of the game where in order to progress in the story, grinding of resources is required. By now you should already unlock all the features of the game including Crimebrand. This is where your units will be different from other people as crimebrand have different stats and abilities. Sinners will unlock them on stage 2 and 3, so equip and upgrade those crimebrand as soon as possible.
If you already cleared a stage before, you can raid it multiple of time which make grinding easy. A very good QOL(Quality of life) that pairs badly a low energy pool and few daily energy supplies. As for the endgame you will need to focus on a team of Sinners of different class if possible, raise them to stage 3, max their level and crimebrand. Follow this advice to avoid losing resources unnecessarily as your account will become stagnant and you will lose a hefty amount of time grinding.

This is where many people will either stick with the game or quit. Managing your resources correctly will let you have powerful units which will let you clear the endgame stages. Fail to manage and your doom having a very slow pace grinding resources for characters for weeks, thus getting bored of the bottleneck of energy that game have.
It’s definitely a Yes, I was happy to see that the mechanics similar to “Arknights”, which is why I understand how so many people was associating both games. The game is fun and require some level of strategy if your planning on using units not in the Tier List. But Path of Nowhere has a flaw that I personally don’t like, low energy pool with high energy cost stages.
Ultimately, Path to Nowhere shackle the players to a minimum amount of gameplay per day specially for free players(f2p). Yes the game is a must play but would transition from a main game to a side game later on. The experience was good but I felt detached every single day as playing a game for less than 5 min only to obtain some resources isn’t the definition of fun. Mobile Legends Bang Bang is a MOBA on mobile platform where you choose a hero to fight in real time against other players. Try to win by all kind of methods with or without the help of your team. For years this game has been the number one MOBA in mobile, why is that? Well we will try to find out more about it’s rise and also it’s potential fall if League of Legends: Wild Rift comes to global.
Surprisingly Mobile Legends Bang Bang does not have a main story. Instead each hero has it’s own story which connect heroes to each other with multiple stories. Those stories are featured in multiple short animated video. But we can see clearly that they wanted to focus more on the game play than the lore. A bit disappointing as we all wanted to know why they are fighting. Oh well! At least i wanted to know more.
The game greets you with a very basic tutorial on how the game mechanics works. The tutorial consists of multiple small objectives and is separated in multiple part. Each represent different lesson about different roles and maps. As for your first lesson in the tutorial, you will learn to move, auto attack, use skill, stay behind minion or under your turret, avoid attacking an enemy hero under the enemy turret, etc. Your opponent will be a dumb AI (bot) which is easy to kill but don’t get too cocky after finishing your tutorial.
Although the tutorial did a good job showing you the basic, this won’t be enough against real player. Anyway back to what is the game play of Mobile Legends Bang Bang. The game is simple destroy the enemy base or make them surrender to win. To do so, you will have multiple obstacle in front of you. A team of 5 player behind their tower on the other side of the map trying to do the same thing as you.
So you will need to attack but also defend your base to avoid losing. The game is not about who gets the most amount of kills like Call of Duty or Modern Warfare. Don’t fall into this kind of trap where you are only playing to have the maximum number of kills and ignoring the main objective of the game. This may cost you dearly and will anger many of your teammate as you never helped them or defended the base when needed the most.
In Brief, you have to kill minions to obtain gold and experience, level up your heroes and buy items to become stronger. Try to destroy your enemy base before the enemy does so while trying not to die to avoid long respawn time. Helping your team secure buffs in the jungler, defending turrets and allies but also destroying enemy turrets and killing enemy heroes. Don’t forget the part where you need to have fun!
All match are played in a specific map, the most popular layout is the 3 lane map. Many people knows it as “Classic”, where the map has 3 lane and is divided into 2 symmetrical part. One for each team, on each lane each team will have 3 turrets per lane that defends their base respectively. Let’s not forget about the jungle is very important part of the map where many buff and bonus can help your team get an advantage.
Some maps won’t have a jungle while other might have only 1 lane. It’s the best to try and learn about the map before actually playing against real player. The lanes are called the Top, Mid and Bot. As for Mobile Legends Bang Bang they are called Experience lane, Middle Lane and Gold Lane. I won’t go in too much detail explaining every single thing in the map, my idea is to give you an overall understanding of it.
As the word itself says all, Preparation is where you will normally choose your emblems and builds or seek information on items. Here a brief description of the content of Preparation.
I think the best answer is there’s no real Best as everything will depend on the situation. You will need to experience emblems, battle spells and builds by yourself. Adapt yourself for each situation then you can tell this is the best build when going against a specific enemy hero. So i would say there’s no definitive answer to that question, it’s a relative question which will always vary compare to the players.
The hero is the more powerful unit in the game which you will control. They can level up up to level 15 if they receive experience. They also learn skills which is unique to themselves. Each hero have only 4 skill in total. Hero can be killed but will always respawn at your base after a certain amount of time depending how many you have been killed. Hero can be very strong in skilled hand and completely under performed with an unskilled player.
Heroes are divided into 7 classes, each class has it’s own pro and cons. Here’s a brief description of each of them.
Mastery code is a place where you receive small quests to complete for each hero that you owned. In order to receive the badge that you are an expert playing that hero to others. Small quests are usually straight forward but some require you some condition like playing with a specific hero which can be troublesome. As some hero are barely picked by players, so your quests may take some time to complete.
Again the answer will vary depending in each situation. There’s no Best hero for every situation. Although some hero excel in some specific field, all heroes are not equal in terms of skills. All heroes have both strength and weaknesses. Some heroes are popular because they are quite easy to use and master in a few games while other is a real pain to work with. The answer is relative depending the skill of the player and on what level he’s playing.
This is where you can claim rewards after completing a certain amount of achievements. Achievements are rather easy to obtain if your a regular player, beginner should try to complete as many achievements to obtain emblems to help their account grow. You also have a ranking system based on how many achievements you have accomplished. You will have different category of achievements which you can unlock, here’s the list.
The only thing that Mobile Legends Bang Bang have as unique compared to other MOBA is the Esports. The Esports is a live channel where on going tournament of international players, where you can watch live match going on. You can also participate or watch your favorite team playing on tournament days. Also all sponsor ads, Tiktok, Youtube and Instagram are also in there, so that you can share or notify friends about it.
All of your redeemable coins, card, heroes, skins and package are stored here. You can decide when to open them or sell of needed. Always keep an eye for items that have an expiry date, if you forget to redeem it before the events ends. You will lose the item as they will remove it after a patch update.
Arcade mode have multiple game during events, they are mostly mini games where to use strategies to win. For example, Magic Chess is an 8-player based game mode, where players will compete against each other in the Magic Chessboard. The goal of this game is to buy and upgrade your heroes and the little commander, customizing your lineup to trigger and counter more and stronger synergies. Of course last one standing is the winner.
Mobile Legends Bang Bang runs on good 3D graphic, not the best or the worst one i have seen. As the battlefield is shown in isometric view, beautiful graphic is not the most important thing in a MOBA. Many player will run lower graphic to obtain the best performance while playing. Lagging or getting low fps can cost you a match. In max setting, the graphic are really beautiful, nice effect on the water, large amount of detail on the monster.
Aside from the map, the game 3D model are really cool and detailed, you can rotate them and check the animated scene for each of them in the lobby. They also let you check the skins which gives a good look on how the skin model look on your hero before buying. The 2D art are really nice, i consider them on par with league of legends artwork.
The last cosmetic thing is the emotes, frames and effects. Emotes and Frames are only in 2D, sometimes animated and sometime just a dull 2D art. As for the effects, they are a full 3D with rather impressive effects like firework, neon and other beautiful effect which activate when re-spawn or is teleporting or get a kill. Those are mostly for showing off that you own some effects and does not affect the game.
The control are good and responsive. Direction on left and skills on right side of the screen. You won’t have an excessive amount of button to tap which is a big relief. They do have 3 type of settings for controls,
You will need to experience each of them and see by yourself which one is better depending on your play style. You also have a Targeting Priority between Lowest HP Percent, Lowest HP and Closest Target. This will help you not attack accidentally a minion instead of a hero in skirmish where things can easily get messy. You don’t have to tap constantly the attack button to auto attack, you can simply tap 1 time and it will automatically auto attack unless you move or change target.
Honestly i don’t expect much from a MOBA game in terms of music. As expected you will have the game main theme music playing in an infinite loop in the lobby and the same thing apply in the battlefield. The voice over of each hero does make them more lovable, they do have some special lines for some skins or when they meet a specific hero. The sound effect are satisfactory nothing funky or out place. The announcer can be change with some heroes voice which is kinda nice.
A match normally will be between 10 to 15 min. The game itself is design to be short and fast but there’s always some exception to the rules. Some match last more than 30 min can when your in a stalemate . Now if you want to complete your daily quests this may take you 1 or 2 hours. Dailies does take some time in Mobile Legends Bang Bang but they are very important for your account progress as F2P.
Yes, Mobile Legends Bang Bang is fully F2P. They give you different heroes of each class for free and some free skins too. You also have the weekly free heroes and free gacha pull everyday for a selected free hero. Don’t forget about the free trials tickets of heroes and skins that is quite useful to test new heroes. Emblems will take some time to complete as F2P as the amount of currency is limited per week.
Some skins can be bought with a specific currency that you accumulate with time by doing your dailies. Note that you also get the +8 power boost with those skin, meaning you’ll be on par with a cash player no matter what skin he uses. Don’t forget that it’s a skill base game and cosmetic won’t help you against a good player.
No, Mobile Legends Bang Bang only charge you for some gachas, skins and packages. Skins only give a slight +8 in power, which is pretty insignificant unless your a min max person. I doubt we can call this P2W. On the other side, paying does offer you a rapid progression to complete your emblems and obtain champions faster than any F2P. Most of the event are for cash player but non of them will give you an overwhelming advantage against other players.

The game is busted with a large amount of cash products. Skins, gems, background, emotes, in game currency, packages, battle pass and events currency. As mentioned above skins are mostly cosmetics and give a slight boost in power but don’t really give you the edge against other player. Most of the events are for cash player as some quests will require you to spend in order to exchange for the event currency.
Be careful lots of events are behind a gacha system which means you may not obtain the desire rewards on the first pull. Unless they have a pity system, then you will have to spend enough to reach the pity. Package price vary between $0.99 to $100 as usual. Better wait for promotion on skins or heroes to buy them if you find something interesting. Maxing your emblems is a good and effective way to spend.
The live PVP has always been a thrill for many players and that’s why many games continue on trying to implement it in game. So i would say Mobile Legends Bang Bang is in a very solid position where the game would last for years. Even if the graphic would get old, the adrenaline rush of fighting other player and winning stays the same. And that gives Mobile Legends Bang Bang a long life span unless they mess up the balance of some heroes.
They also have a mastery system of each hero with some mini quests. It’s more like an achievement to show other people what you have accomplished and what hero you have mastered. A bit like an intimidation or a boast. Luckily for Moonton players like those kind of thing, trying to continue to play until they have all mastery and badges. Games can be called completed only when you have obtain everything.
Mobile Legends Bang Bang force you to learn about the game mechanics, heroes, items, maps, spells, emblems and to play with other player. Learning never stops! Which is entirely true in a MOBA, some opponents will always surprise you with a weird builds or unorthodox way of fighting. Items and heroes are constantly re balance which force you to learn about buffs and nerf of heroes. Most important thing is to learn to communicate with other player.
Take decision in real time that can lead you to victory or defeat. This is where the strategy kicks in. This game have a large part of being strategic despite it’s simple goal. Adapt strategy depending on your team or situation to trick your opponent into a false sense of security. Do back doors, ambush, ganks and so much effective strategy. But strategy is useless if your planning to play the game by yourself and for yourself only.
Which bring us to the last benefit, communication. Communication is key in those kind of game, what is the use of having knowledge of all the game and knowing all kind of strategy but you can’t pass it to your team. With good communication whether it’s voice or chat, can largely affect a match. Respecting your teammate and skill level can be difficult but not impossible, try giving positive feedback. Instead of being Toxic and releasing a wave of insult to them, may bring you bad reputations and reports.
Making you, the worst of players who always blame it’s team for losing and never praise them for winning. Remember it’s just a game where random people are playing with you. No need to get emotional and make other people gaming experience a nightmare. Last thing about Mobile Legends Bang Bang, it’s highly addictive!!! so watch out.
The game updates every week with both bug fix and updates. Events updates is nearly every 2 weeks depending on the type of events. New heroes and skin does show up with a longer delay but you will always have an event going on. Mobile Legends Bang Bang is a very active game with updates to keep you busy and avoid boredom.
Yes, it’s a good example of a MOBA game for mobile. Some would call it a copy of League of Legends on Mobile which i partly agrees. While it does share some similarity with league of legends, the characters are quite unique. Mobile Legends Bang Bang does not have a main story but focus more on the game play part which can be considered good or bad from a certain point of view. It also share the same burden of all the other MOBA games.
A list of things that make MOBA quite infamous. I won’t list all of them because it’s another subject entirely. Mobile Legends Bang Bang is not beginner friendly, have a difficult learning curve and is highly addictive. It also suffers from trolls, afkers, ragers, etc… while it sound very negative, not all your match will be filled with them. You will also encounter skilled, friendly and helpful players. Those guys and girls will make you have a very positive experience of the game.
Keep in mind that you can’t win every single match. It’s a hard reality that you will have to accept no matter how good you are. After over 500+ match, i can say that MOBA reflect a lot of reality into a match. You can’t win by yourself, you will need assistance from time to time whether from a strong or a weak person. Helping others will help you win and help from others may help you overcome a difficult opponent.
Anyway i digress, the game still have some improvement to do in terms of balancing heroes and matches. Events are not fun for F2P and emblems progression is extremely slow unless you pay. A typical mobile mechanics to make you spend. It’s a good adrenaline rush to play 1 or 2 match per day but don’t touch that game if your in a bad mood. As you may regret it, losing is not fun and can sometimes be very frustrating. You are playing Mobile Legends Bang Bang to have fun so don’t take things too seriously unless your a pro player going in a competition to win a cash price.

Darkness Rises is a fast pace Action RPG on mobile where you fight hordes of monster and boss everyday. Equip yourself with the best gear and powerful skill to break through in a hack and slash style. The game is still alive for some reasons, let’s find out more about it in this review.
The orcs struck without warning or mercy. Cities burned. The Land was soaked in blood. The orcs left nothing but misery and ruin in their wake. This wave of carnage now beats against Iron Guard. This border fortress is all that stands between the kingdom of Losteria and certain destruction. And you my friend, you are helping the Lord of Iron Guard all this chaos like in the intro. This is where your adventure will begin.
After you select your class, you start by the lord’s daughter side in the orc invasion. After some good voice acting dialogues, you start the tutorial. The tutorial will be split into multiple stage to show you different game’s mechanics. You will learn how to move, use basic attacks, skills, execution( Rage skills), soul link, ultimate skill and dodge. Once you completed the tutorial, you should follow the guide.
The Way of the novice warrior will make go between the story and the adventure modes.This will let you progress correctly and also reward you nicely. You will start unlocking more contents and features as you progress. As you advance you will start struggling to clear stages, specially with the boss of the stage.
The stage is split into 3 section, instead of the classic RPG where monster waves comes to you, one after the other. Darkness Rises separates those monster wave in different room, each time you clear a room you will sprint to the next room. Of course the last stage will have a Mini Boss or a Boss waiting for you depending the stage.
You may have notice that difficult stages will have orange or red color on the battle power(power score) between your power and the recommended power. So you will need to raise your power score by different ways like enhancing your stats, upgrading skills, get better gear and costumes. Note that your character level doesn’t really contribute to battle power and it only adds more keys(stamina) pool.
The game have multiple activities in PVE, if you like hack slashing monster all day. You will be serve with a variety of modes and a huge selection of different enemy size. Those mode are challenging enough to keep your attention for several hours. Of course having too much power may ruin a bit the combat in stages but you can always handicap yourself from removing some gear to match the power score. Here’s the list of PVE content available.
Darkness Rises has one of the best PVP combat, real time fight that needs some skills and timing when fighting opponent with same amount of power. You can try your best and try to rank as high as possible, rewards are worth it(gems). Here are the mode you can access in PVP.
If your a bit tired of playing alone, you can get in the Co-op and fight together with another player. Those raids have limited entry but you can play together to obtain a good amount of reward. Here’s the list of Co-op mode available.
One way to raise your power is through Raise max level. Remember that your getting permanent stats increase, this will make your character way stronger on the long run. Here you can select between different 6 stats :
Each time 5 level you upgrade them, will increase the max level to next 5 but will have to redo the process for the next max level. Essences will be the material needed for the upgrade which you can easily farm in adventure mode or obtain them as reward chests.
Skills will allow you to perform extra damage to enemies and can be a useful way to evade enemy attacks. They are divided in to 4 parts.
All your skills can be upgraded, you will need gold, skills points, rage points and ultimate scrolls. You can obtain them as reward as simply playing your dailies and weekly quests. Do not forget that you power score also increase when you upgrade your skills.
Gears are an easy way to get a huge amount of power. They can be farmed or pulled from the Gacha. Each gear set looks very unique and look good, 10 parts of gear in total that includes your weapon. Gear comes in different set, and having at least 2 parts of the set gives you a bonus. The gear does have a rank base like this
Some gear will have a + sign after the rank, showing it’s superior to one without +. Here’s an example S+ gear will always be better than S gear. Those gear can be upgraded and transcended to become even more powerful. They also have the option of fusion, we will come back to this subject in the upgrade section.
In Darkness Rises, costume are not just for cosmetic purpose like in other games. They are also another source to obtain more power. They share some similarities to gears, 10 different parts and a rank system. However they do not share the set bonus like gears, but those costume can be upgraded,fused and dyed. They give less power than gears and is a low priority to pull in the Gacha. Unless you really want a specific costume for your character to look unique.
If you want to step up things even further and obtain more power, you will have to rely on those 3 to get the edge. Although they don’t give as much power as gear and costume but they are important enough to get that extra missing power needed to clear a stage.
I didn’t mention collection reward for costume as they are only one time reward that will give you a small amount of power. And also Emblem as it’s more like a title that you get for clearing a specific task, they also give some power but is mostly for showing off. Lastly you also can also reroll the traits on your gear but be careful not to lose good traits while rerolling.
Nearly all the things in Darkness Rises can be upgraded in a certain way. Each of them will have different means of upgrade,
All upgrade will be your gold sink. While it can be use as a method to free space in your inventory early but it is not recommended. Better you upgrade on days that they give a discount on upgrades. Also use polish as they were created to upgrade gear, this will make you save so much gold on the long run.
Around mid game, you will start getting materials for crafting. Crafting is rather simple, get the required materials then select what you want to craft. It does cost some gold and you are done. Now you just have to wait that the blacksmith finish it. You can craft polish and other handy materials needed for your progression. Crafting is a good way but slow way to get S++ gear, don’t forget to craft from time to time.
Darkness Rises does have other contents beside combat, these are the things that you can do beside PVE and PVP stuff. What are those content? They are the
A beautiful 3D graphic, the game looks really good. They added a good amount of details for the both characters and environments. You have a multitude of weapons, armors, costumes which is different from each other. You will see the weapon that you equip on your character and will not be a static skin weapon although you equipped a different looking weapon. Same apply to armor and costumes.
Weapon glow in this game after you refine them, i know for some people this might be insignificant but for those who played classic game. A glowing weapon means power and coolness, anyway the game did a good job on those equipment.
Costume is such a large part of Darkness Rises, i never saw a game with so much costumes. Cool thing that you can extract your favorite costume and keep it in your wardrobe. So you can choose how to look like when going to fight. Mixing part of costumes and armor or weapon is really a good way to make a character unique. That’s not all, you can also dye your gears. This add another layer of customization to your costumes.
Talking about customization, did you know you can modify you character face and body in this game? The customization is on par with good MMO games who have a character customization at the start of their game. You want to be shorter or look beefy or want thicker legs, well all of that is possible.
The combat will always starts with a little animation of your character and will end with another animation of your character. The camera will do a lot of zoom in and out for those animations, specially for the skills. Skills looks good, some look awesome and some look meh but that will depends on your preferences.
Last thing is that you can interact with your character in the lobby, you can poke them on the head and hands. You can also use emote to make them make special animation for you like saying hello, winning pose, cry, etc… You can also destroy some of the objects in the environment during combat if you did not notice.
The classic control for mobile game with direction on the left, skills and dodge on the right. You have full control over your character movement and when using skills. Note that you are lock in an animation when using a skill, luckily some skill make you invincible for some seconds. But be careful you are not invincible when you doing your basic attack combo animation. This could be a matter between life and death for your character.

I recommend playing the game on manual, because auto mode will waste ultimate and skills on small monsters and will get you killed most of the time. Semi Auto is ok, but you will still be lock in combo animation which will make you take unnecessary damage and won’t let you dodge in time. In the end manual will let you enjoy the game at it’s best.
You can’t select a target to aim, you will attack anything in front of you. So no lock on target or boss during a fight, good luck on boss fights with minions spawning. Also you don’t control the camera during combat, a bit of disappointment for an ARPG. But the camera can rotate, zoom in and out in the lobby. Weird they did not implement it for combat.
The music is good, each stage has different background music including the lobby. Good sound effects for slashing, grunts, skills and monsters. The whole story has good voice actor which immerse you even more in the game.
Daily quest takes around 15 min to complete but if you are playing all 7 class, this may take you 2 hours per day. You can focus on a main character and ignore the other 6 but you will see on the long run that they will be your daily gems supply. If your going all out and want to play non-stop, you can do it as keys(stamina) regenerate quickly and you can just switch class if your out of keys.
You can also switch between PVP and PVE modes, that will give your keys enough time to regenerate. The good thing is you can choose your pace whether you play some minutes or stay for hours. To avoid power score walls, you can either grind materials or simply wait for your daily rewards. You also gain rewards such as experience for staying offline. I think it’s a win win situation for all kind of players.
The game is very generous and reward you enough to at least try to fuse for some L gear which is the best grade of gear you can obtain. They accompany you with a quest till you reach 8 million power score. However after that you are left with only grinding and trying to raise the other classes to try to pass power score walls. Gems can be obtain if you climb up the ladder in PVP and obtainable in some other ways.
You have full access to all the game content. Costumes are not locked behind paywall and the game is playable as a F2P but you may take a bit more time to grab those L gear. As you can see the game is very F2P and generous with you. You can also get a chance to obtain L gear in the Gacha but the rate are very low but it’s another way for F2P to obtain it.
The P2W aspect that many people complains is still available in the game. You can purchase L gear in the cash shop and that ruining the entire balance between F2P and P2W. You can buy as much loot box as you want and try your luck getting L gear or you can buy it on limited special packages. Meaning someone can easily reach top ladder really fast if they are willing to pay.
Making Darkness Rises a P2W game, so what’s the purpose of giving F2P so much things? F2P will have to spend a lot of time to reach the top ladder, of course if they are lucky enough to pull some L gear later on.
Yes, you can watch up to 5 ads per day to get around 200 gems in total. Thankfully those ads are not forced on you, so you can choose to watch the ads or ignore it completely.
The cash shop does look like the standard shop in mobile with different packages like gear chest, trait ticket, gems, gold, pets, gear enhancement, crafting materials and level up packages. They also have 14 days and 28 days daily gems packages. Price varies between $3 to $100 which is the average price of mobile game packages.
The shop also sell loot boxes (Lucky box) where you will get random items. Those box can be bought infinitely and is one of the most predatory system to make you spend money. Some even refer it to gambling in a casino where you can see all the goodies. But risk of losing all your money not getting any of it. So you have been warned about it.
As all fast pace combat game, Darkness Rises also suffers from being abandon by player after every stages have been cleared. So to solve that issue they added a mechanic where you need to play all the class to get a stats bonus. While the idea is good, lets say it’s not very practical and was implemented incorrectly. They knew that a short campaign with multiple difficulty would not last long.
So you will have to play all 7 class to fully experience the game. Replaying 7 times would expand the life span of the game but it’s not fun at all. After the 3rd character i was pushing skip just to get over it asap, things were redundant and uninteresting as only some line of dialogue was change for the other class.
If they added different story line or alternate route for each class, things would have been much interesting. As i would have pay full attention each class story, knowing a bit more about your character. Anyway Darkness Rises is still alive, partly because of it’s live PVP match and good amount of contents beside the main campaign. Let’s not forget about it’s unique costume and character customization.
Overall, i think the game is still holding on and will be holding on for 1 or 2 years if they can keep up with the updates like adding new chapters, contents or even new class. The game is still very active with a decent player base, not as much when it was release but server does get busy on specific time of the day.
Who does not like fighting enemies at very fast pace, the immersive dark fantasy world like lord of the rings, hack and slashing through horde enemies is fun. Learn about combat, combos and dodging enemies attack develops your reflex. Also you have some micro management to do with your characters, camps and gear which is always useful in everyday life. Customization of your character and costume also develop your creativity.
They do update the games every week with events and bug fixes. The are currently working on changing the basic attack of all classes and also will be adding new chapter soon.
Yes, you should definitely play it if your a fan of fast pace combat. It looks good and feels good when playing Darkness Rises. Combat is a bit too short, hack and slashing through your enemy and fighting against boss at the end is really fun. I didn’t like to replaying the story again and again, i felt been tricked and wasting my time. Class didn’t really matter in PVE as long as your power score was ok but was really important for PVP.
The graphic is really beautiful, love the customization and costumes. Darkness Rises have an abundant amount of content for both PVE and PVP players. A good gear system with crafting and fusing gear. Multiple of ways to obtain equipment and gems, even a camp builder and fishing for afk players. The game does not require too much time and attention. It’s a good solid F2P ARPG game with some P2W aspect.
